Hawthorne was recruited to The Sentinels after he had a successful live trial. Despite his small stature, Hawthorne has a very physical presence, which is shown by his usage of the Rossmore 238 Shotgun. Unfortunately, George Hopper (Hawthorne's Physician) noticed that the Chimeran virus was spreading quickly through Hawthorne's system and recommended that he be terminated; Malikov disallowed this recommendation though and chose to further study his condition.

Hawthorne is the only person in The Sentinels with a perfect disciplinary record and he also received the Gold Cross for his actions during Operation Charon. However, during Echo Team's assault on the Holar Tower, he is caught off guard by Daedalus and is killed.
