Corporal Lewis is briefly mentioned in an intel document entitled 'Crawlers', which is found in Manchester. Corporal Lewis was a medic and he, alongside the writer of the intel, were the only two survivors of an assault.

It's apparent that during their last stand in the Cathedral they managed to learn a fair bit about how the crawlers worked. They were also forced to stop Doctor Seaver's heart with morphine when he was attacked by crawlers. Unfortunately for them it seems they didn't quite last until help could arrive.
