Project Abraham

Test Subject

(Contains Spoilers)
Joseph Capelli is one of the subjects brought in as part of Project Abraham. He had a history of violence and chose to take part in Project Abraham instead of being sentenced to prison in Alaska.

Upon being injected with the Chimeran virus, he seemed to react normally. However, after a few hours he became hysterical and extremely violent. Following this outburst, he then went into a coma and was transfered to Bryce Canyon under the order of Dr Fyodor Malikov.

Resistance 2

Main Character

(^Top) After recovering from his coma in Bryce Canyon, Capelli was enlisted as a member of The Sentinels. He first took part in Operation Bellerophon, which was a complete failure. He was found six weeks later at a Warsaw Conversion center and it is presumed that he was only able to survive due to cannibalism. Following this he was assigned to Bravo Team, but his temper caused SRPA to lose a substation and suffer heavy casualties. He was demoted, suspended and eventually transfered to Echo Team. Shortly afer this transfer, he was found self-harming and had to be subdued by Benjamin Warner.

Capelli's dislike for authority shines through in Resistance 2, as he always shows a lack of dislike towards Nathan Hale. However, this doesn't stop him from doing his job and he survives a tricky encounter against the Mother Spinner in Idaho while fighting alongside Hale.

Insubordination

Following Hale's decision to save Malikov instead of receiving his inhibitor treatment, Capelli informs Hale that he wants to be the one to kill him once he turns into a Chimera. However, when Daedalus stabs Hale in the Holar Tower, Capelli rescues Hale. They then take part in the final mission together and successfully deploy the fission bomb on board the Chimeran mother ship.

When Capelli awakens from the blast, he finds that Hale has turned into a Chimera. Despite announcing great pleasure in wanting to kill him, Capelli now has a respect for Hale and seems reluctant about having to kill him; a feat which he performs by shooting him in the head.

Capelli is the only surviving member of Echo Team in Resistance 2.
