Who Needs Weapons When You Have Hands Like These?
Gray Jacks are Chimeran soldiers who are coming to the end of their lives. They are starting to out-grow their bodies and are no longer useful as operators of weaponry. Instead, they're used as melee troops to rush enemies quickly. Their lanky legs mean they can cover ground quickly, but if a level head is kept, they are no real threat on their own. They only start to become a problem if they catch you by surprise, or if there are multiple Gray Jacks, but these scenarios happen rarely throughout the game.
The Reapers are recommended weapons due to their ability to do a double melee attack. When a Gray Jack is attacked with melee, it stumbles and opens itself up for further attacks. Using Reapers can down them very quickly, but melee attacks are still advised even without Reapers. If you want to be more cautious though use melee attacks in conjunction with a Rossmore 236 to down them quickly.
