A Chimeran Of Almost Tank Proportions

The Ravager is one of the many new Chimeran troops seen in Resistance 2, and is far more intimidating than the standard Hybrid. They are very large muscular Chimera and due to their size they are capable of wielding quite potent weaponry. The generic Ravagers are equipped with a plasma type rifle and a portable shield generator attached to their arm.

Ravagers are also not afraid to charge head on towards a player in order to get into melee range where they can effectively be their most dangerous. Combine this with the fact they can use their shield during this charge and it makes them quite the predator. They are also usually together in pairs, and backed up by multiple Hybrids to make things all the more interesting.

Their armour and skin are extremely tough. However, the weight of their armour and overall size means their mobility is rather hampered. On rare occasions some Ravagers may come equipped with something that can only be described as Minigun. While they don't have the shield, underestimating this variant is extremely unadvised. The miniguns fire rate and damage is enough to drop a player in mere moments.

When confronting Ravagers, maintaining distance is key to victory. The Auger is probably the most potent as it will ignore their shielding which makes taking one down on the charge much easier. Grenades also make for a great alternative as the shield is only able to protect them from the front. The L23 Fareye also performs perfectly as a single headshot will instantly kill one should it drop its shield for that split second enabling the slow down mode to take the shot.
