The Chimeran Rat

Spinners are a new Chimeran strain added to Resistance 2. They are rather insectoid in appearence and they also appear to have a hive type structure in relation to the Mother Spinner appearing as a "Queen" Spinner.

Initially Crawlers were the Chimera's choice of infecting humans, but since their evolution, Spinners have risen up to take on the task. Spinners are still introduced to areas in the same fashion by the use of however, following the destruction of the Carriers, Spinners speed up the conversion process and also negated the need for conversion centres. As the name implies, they spin cocoons around their victims and they are converted into Grims.

Spinners are encountered on many levels in Resistance 2 by Nathan Hale, although it's rather confusing to see as how they impose quite the epidemic by themselves. Usually, upon seeing Hale they run away and their small size makes it difficult to understand reports that stated they have been seen overturning moving vehicles.
