Resistance 2 Home Space Confirmed

(Posted: //) by Darryl

Sony Computer Entertainment America have confirmed that Resistance 2 is going to be featured fully inside PlayStation Home.

The Resistance 2 space is going to be officially unveiled on the 21st of May, 2009 and it will feature a cool mini-game where players can shoot down Chimeran ships, as well as reward items and leaderboards.

The big feature though, is that the Resistance 2 Home space will be officially supporting game launching. This means you can hook up with your buddies (or other Resistance fans) inside Home and instantly launch into a match with them on Resistance 2 - in either co-op or competitive matches.

Resistance 2 Continues Climb, Insomniac Excited for Franchise

(Posted: //) by Darryl

Now 6 months on and with hindsight available, it's a good time see exactly how Resistance 2 has performed. Being the sequel to the Playstation 3 launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man, expectations were exceedingly high and after seeing Resistance: Fall of Man perform exceedingly well in sales and receive praise from critics and it was envisaged that Insomniac would push on with the series. The game came out in November 2008 worldwide, so let's dig in to the analysis.

The first point of contention is with reviews. Resistance 2 received very mixed reviews when it came out, but they were mostly favourable. Many felt that while the single player experience had a lot of scale, it was still lacking. However, its saving grace was the copious amount of multiplayer options. You could now enjoy a separate story with up to eight friends online in the co-operative mode. Each mission came with a briefing and objectives that had to be battled as a team and upon completion, intel would be unlocked which shed more light on to the overall Resistance story. In combination with the competitive modes (which allowed for up to 60 players), Resistance 2 was an online package that gave a lot back to the consumer

Resistance Retribution To Raise The Bar For PSP Titles

(Posted: //) by Darryl

By now, most people who either own a PSP, or are fans of the Resistance franchise know about the existance of Resistance Retribution. If they don't, then they're seriously missing out as Retribution is looking like one of the biggest PSP titles of 2009, if only because of the new innovations that the game brings to the format.

Set after the events of Resistance: Fall of Man, but before Resistance 2, Resistance Retribution follows the story of one James Grayson as he joins forces with Rachel Parker and Steven Cartwright from the first Resistance. One of the first noticable differences though, is that it's not being developed by Insomniac, but by Sony Bend. Insomniac were involved with the initial process, but that was only to get the story in place; other than that, Sony Bend have been free to do whatever they desire.

More after the jump.

Resistance 2 Hands On: Single Player

(Posted: //) by Darryl

With less than a month to go until the release of Resistance 2, we finally had the chance to get our hands on the Single Player campaign. We were lucky enough to get to play through two levels; Iceland and Orick.

Being the "seasoned veterans" that we are, we didn't want to just try the game out, we wanted to try it out on Super Human. So we dived straight in to the first level to see how it compares to the difficulty of Resistance: Fall of Man.

Check out the rest of the story for a full recap.
