The Advanced Auger-FS is a modified Auger Mk II developed by the Maquis exclusively for Roland Mallery. Unlike the Auger Mk II, the Advanced Auger-FS has a much more protective shield that almost fully encases the user. This is far superior to the Auger Mk II, which only offered protection from the front.

As well as an extended coverage for the shield, it also functions more like the Backlash Grenade, meaning that when opposition projectiles hit the shield, they rebound to where they were fired from, instead of being absorbed.

The shield further excels by not requiring any kind of ammunition pick-up. Instead, the shield can be regenerated over time, making the gun much more efficient.
