Not Just Your Average Sidearm

The HE. 44 Magnum is an extremely powerful device for more reason than one. Not only does it have a potent primary fire, but each slug carries a small explosive charge which can be detonated remotely.

In terms of practical use, the clip size is only 6, due to it being modelled on a stereotypical Magnum. Each single shot can take down a Hybrid with little problem, but this weapon's beauty comes in its secondary fire. Once a bullet has been fired, it lodges in either the scenery or an opponent's body and from there on, it can be exploded. This is extremely useful against larger enemies, as all 6 rounds can be stacked and exploded at the same time for quite a large fireworks display.

Using The Magnum Online Is Like Making A New Best Friend

Cooperative: The Magnum can be unlocked by only the Medic class in cooperative play, and it can be used as a sidearm. It does have advantages over the other Medic sidearms, namely the damage the weapon can do. It's great for dealing damage quickly, which means quick kills can be achieved without spending too much time away from the XR-42 Phoenix.

Competitive: Every competitor in the competitive side of Resistance 2 has a Magnum by their side at all times as it's the mandatory second weapon. Usually the Magnum is only used as a last resort due to ammo depletion, or an empty clip, but even if these situations it's still a formidible weapon against a single foe.
