The IWAO-R Chaingun was originally developed by legendary weapons expert Iwao Ryusaki for use in Japanese fighter planes. However, it was determined that the gun was light-weight enough for troops to handle, and it was modified for this task.

It carries a large quantity of ammunition, and has an extremely fast rate of fire. Combined with this, it also has a shield, which makes it extremely similar to the HVAP Wraith, although it was likely developed beforehand and thus, is probably an earlier model of the gun.

It's extremely useful for taking down some of the tougher enemies, purely because it's possible to stand up without any cover due to the shield. It's especially effective against Titans, but it can mow down some of the lower tier enemies in record speed.
