Resistance: Fall of Man

Rocket Launcher

The L209 LAARK is essentially a Rocket Launcher, or RPG Launcher and it is a weapon developed by the allies. Its primary goal is to cause massive devastation and destruction against the more notable foes in the Chimeran army and it does an exceedingly good job of levelling the playing field.

The LAARK really comes into its own against the Widowmaker and its possible to take one down with a single Rocket, if done correctly. The LAARK also comes equipped with an Air Brake, which stops the rocket and allows for a change of trajectory incase you fire in the wrong direction.

Obtained: The L209 LAARK is acquired during the first playthrough in the Chimeran Tunnels - "In a Darker Place". After starting the level, the LAARK is in the centre of the first room that is navigated.

Tip: The primary fire actually has two functions. If the rocket is fired far enough and the fire button is held down, the shell will rain out bullets which home on neaby targets and cause even more destruction.

LAARK Online

If the L209 LAARK is acquired, you are packing some serious firepower and people should be very weary about attacking you head on. Even though the online version of the L209 LAARK only allows for two shells to be carried at any one time, that is more than enough to make mincemeat out of at least one person.

As with the offline mode, the LAARK is extremely powerful, so make sure there is always plenty of room between yourself and the opposition otherwise you might get caught up in the blast radius too. You should also try to make good use of the Air Brake, although it might not be suited to all situations.

Tip: Try to aim for the floor when facing an opponent. There is a much larger change that the explosion will kill them than if you aim at their body, since if they move it's a wasted shot. Aiming at the floor at least means they might get hurt enough to make the second shot count.

Tip: If someone is hiding behind some scenery, or round a corner, fire a rocket and use the Air Brake to stop it next to them. Press and hold Fire again and mini-shells will come out of the rocket and home into nearby enemies. You also get to keep the rocket too, which is nice.

Resistance Retribution

Attack The Weak Spot For Massive Damage

(^Top) The L209 LAARK makes a return in Resistance Retribution, as it is seen in early gameplay videos. It is presumed that the functionality is much the same as in Resistance: Fall of Man.
