Mid-Range Sniper Rifle

The Marksman is a weapon of Chimeran Origin that was originally found in Scotland and modified to suit Human purposes. It is essentially a sniper rifle, but it can also be used relatively effectively at short range due to its burst firing nature and accuracy.

The primary fire of the Marksman fires three quick shots, although during these shots it is common for the rifle to recoil slightly. It also has a moderate zoom, but its range doesn't compare to that of the L23 Fareye. If targets are fired at from long range, the damage is considerably less than at short to mid range. The secondary fire of the Marksman is an autonomous drone which fries short electric bursts at a singular nearby target.

Ammo throughout the single player campaign is quite sparse and the Marksman chews through ammo relatively quickly due to the three-burst shot. For this reason, getting headshots is essential, as a body shot kill can take 6-9 rounds.


Bridging The Gap

Cooperative: The Marksman can only be used by the Spec Ops class, and it is their compulsory weapon. Due to its fast firing rate, it is a very sturdy weapon. Ammo also isn't a problem, due to the Spec Ops' ability to replenish it.
Competitive: The Marksman is a very good choice in Competitive modes for those who like Sniping, but also like to be in the thick of the action. Due to the nature of the Marksman it is useful at both short and mid range and the secondary fire also helps to provide cover and an extra source of damage.
