Resistance 2
Big, Badder Shotgun
The Rossmore 238 is an upgraded version of the Rossmore 236 which is nearly identical to its predecessor. There are some slight adjustments though, mainly in the secondary fire.
The most obvious thing of note is that the recoil is much less than the Rossmore 236. This is quite evident from the primary fire mode, as firing quite quickly doesn't cause the reticle to shift dramatically. This is due to an shoulder rest which is now mounted on the gun.
The major change to the Rossmore though, is with the secondary fire. Previously with the Rossmore 236, it fired both barrels at the same time. However, now they fire one after the other. This increases the chance of killing an opponent, because if the first barrel misses, the second can still hit. Whereas before, it was all or nothing. The long delay between shots is still present though, despite the new ammo clip housed on the weapon.
Tip: The Rossmore 238 is perfect for killing melee only enemies such as Grims, Leapers and Chameleons. It can usually be found if they are approaching too, so be sure to grab one to make your life much easier.
Using The Rossmore 238 Online
Cooperative: The Rossmore can be used by both the Medic and Soldier classes. It is the first weapon unlocked by the Solider and the second unlocked by the Medic. Personally, we would recommend not using it for the Medic, as the M5A2 Carbine is a better alternative, but it's adequate for the Soldier as the Wraith provides lots of muscle at medium to long range.
Competitive: The Rossmore in competitive should only be recommended to those who're brave and/or have a death wish. It can be incredibly effective if the team works in unison, but as a solo effort it is very difficult to get close enough to people to cause any real damage, especially in the larger levels.
It is lovely to see other people explode after being hit with shotgun shells, but more often than not, it'll be you hitting the floor, not them.
